Doctoral Student
Afrin Jannat is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Animal Sciences at Colorado State University. Afrin started her Ph.D. study in the Fall of 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Kim Stackhouse-Lawson. Afrin completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Afrin obtained her master’s degree in Dairy Science from the same University. Afrin’s interest in working with livestock increased when she worked as an intern after completing her bachelor’s in the renowned dairy industry in Bangladesh. Afrin studied the effect of dietary sources of protein on the nutritional status and milk yield of prepartum and postpartum crossbred dairy cows in her master’s thesis. In her spare time, Afrin enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
