Research Scholar

Irene Alexandre Reis is currently a Research Assistant with AgNext at Colorado State University, where she supports research projects focused on sustainable livestock production, methane mitigation to improve beef cattle production systems.
 
Irene was born in Tocantins State, Brazil, and graduated in Animal Science from Catholic University Center of Tocantins. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in research and extension projects focused on animal production systems, sustainable intensification of agriculture, and outreach activities related to the origin and quality of animal products. In 2020, she began her Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition and Production at São Paulo State University (UNESP/FCAV), Brazil, conducting research focused on beef cattle nutrition and production systems. She subsequently completed her Ph.D. in Animal Science at the same university, with research focused on beef cattle production, nutrition, meat quality, transcriptomic and proteomic approaches.
