Our Team | Natalie Urie
Veterinary Epidemiologist
Natalie Urie, DVM, MPH, is a veterinary epidemiologist specializing in livestock health, disease surveillance, and One Health research. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health. At USDA’s National Animal Health Monitoring System, she led the nationally representative Sheep 2024 and Goat 2019 studies, overseeing study design, field implementation, and data analysis. She also has previous dairy experience, focusing on calf health, colostrum management, and disease monitoring in U.S. cattle herds. Most recently, Dr. Urie joined the Lombard research group to support research on highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in dairy cattle, applying field-based surveillance, statistical modeling, and One Health approaches to investigate transmission dynamics, co-infections, and herd level risk factors. She is committed to improving herd health outcomes and supporting sustainable livestock management through data driven approaches.
