Our Team | Fallon Jiménez
Fallon works as a Livestock Sustainability Engagement Specialist at AgNext. She was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Production Sciences from the National University of Colombia. During her studies, she engaged in activities related to wildlife, conservation, and aquaculture. Later in her academic journey, she specialized in aquaculture and water quality, gaining valuable experience in research and field practices.
Upon completing her master’s degree, Fallon pursued a career in academia, working as a coordinator, professor, and lecturer at the Industrial University of Santander and the University of Applied and Environmental Sciences in Colombia. Her teaching experience provided her with a fresh perspective on animal production systems, emphasizing their critical role in societal development and food security.
Her passion for a holistic approach to analyzing animal production systems motivated her to guide students in exploring sustainable practices, social skills, ecosystem services, animal welfare, and innovative strategies for the livestock sector.
With a renewed perspective, she later enrolled in the Master’s program in Sustainable Development Practice at the University of Florida. During the Summer of 2022, she completed her field practicum in Rwanda as part of a project with Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems, exploring the opinions and perceptions of people trained in the Dairy Farm Assessment and Advisory Tool (RDFAAT).
She paused her career to embrace motherhood and raise her beautiful daughter alongside her husband. Now, she is eager to contribute to AgNext by applying her expertise as an Animal Scientist, combined with her newly acquired skills in Social Science
Her Interests: Creating a better approach to the production system as a whole, promote sustainable livestock systems, extension programs, rural development, sharing time with her daughter and husband, reading, music, birdwatching, walking in nature, beekeeping, and pottery.
