Communication and Outreach Specialist

Erica Giesenhagen grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Staying close to home, she attended Colorado State University to study journalism and media communication. After graduating with her undergraduate degree in 2019, Erica began her master’s degree in the same program. Erica completed her master’s in 2023 with her thesis studying outdoor workers being exposed to poor air quality. Throughout her educational career, Erica has had the opportunity to work with a number of high-profile agencies such as the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the National Park Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the City of Fort Collins, and Larimer County. Erica is the Communication and Outreach Specialist where she manages external communications on behalf of AgNext and oversees a team of communications interns. She currently lives in a tiny house and enjoying finding creative solutions for reducing her impact on the environment in her everyday life.
