Research Scientist
Edward James Raynor (EJ, in short) comes to us from USDA Agricultural Research Service’s Rangeland Resources and Systems Research Unit in Fort Collins, CO/Cheyenne, WY where he led livestock foraging behavior work at the Central Plains Experimental Range from 2019-2022 as a postdoctoral research associate. EJ completed his dissertation at Kansas State University’s Division of Biology where he studied bison foraging behavior and distribution at Konza Prairie Biological Station near Manhattan, Kansas. Prior to his Ph.D., he spent several years studying wildlife habitat restoration in the nation’s grasslands (both coastal [Louisiana] and interior [Kansas]). Dr. Raynor’s research focuses on fitness-based grazing behavior, grazingland ecosystem service delivery, and reducing uncertainty in pasture management decision-making.
