Systems Modeling Research Scientist

Dr. John Sheehan is a research scientist in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. His work focuses on biofuels, modeling of sustainable agriculture, life cycle assessment, land use change and issues related to sustainable land use and sustainable development. Sheehan previously worked in several different capacities, including science director for the Initiative on Renewable Energy and the Environment at the University of Minnesota, project manager and analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and vice president of strategic planning and sustainable development for LiveFuels, Inc. – an algae startup company in California. Sheehan earned his Ph.D. in natural resources and science management from the University of Minnesota.
